Change shape data field attributes

To truly appreciate the power and flexibility of the data features in Visio, it’s helpful to know how to change the attributes of existing data fields and how to create new data fields. You will explore the former in this section and the latter in the following topic.

You can change nearly any property of a field by using the Define Shape Data dialog box that was described in the preceding section. For example, for the Currency field shown in Figure 8-13, you can change the display format for the currency value by selecting an entry from the list. The available choices in the Format list depend on the country and region settings for your edition of Windows.
